Is there any valid/serious reason for the British Museum to not return the Parthenon Marbles that were looted from Greece 200 years ago? How do Brits argue against returning those Greek national treasures?

“Finders keepers”?
Every artefact should be returned to their country of origin. The British Museum has no right to tell the countries no, they hold multiple Welsh artefacts and refuse to return them to us, return ours, return Greece’s return everything to every country. End of.
‘Something, something, Lord Elgin, British Empire, something…’

Why should they?
Why should a country’s mueseums only have artifacts found on it’s land?
“It’s ours mate and it brings the dough in so fuck off will ya”
