Suuper! Making additionally use of the water power plant infrastructure, and at that altitude the incoming solar energy is much higher.
Which dam is it?
The company I work for built this plant 💪🏼
We really should have built more bigger alpine solar and smaller house/industrial solar arrays this year.
The EWZ built a similar system in Albigna, an existing dam and hydroelectric power station. IIRC it increased the generation capacity of the plant by 25% for an investment of only 700’000 CHF. (At current retail power prices it will pay for itself in about 4 years!)
Hydroelectric and solar are a great mix, because the dam can be a battery. When you have excess power, pump water into the lake. When you need power than the solar grid produces, like at night,, draw it from the lake.
