Jack Woodley: Teens sentenced for gang attack murder

  1. Absolutely sickening, 30 – 40 kids following the gang as they targeted him, chased him down and beat, stamped on and eventually stabbed and no one tried to stop it.

The poor kid literally did nothing to deserve or warrant this, He was just who the mob noticed couldn’t stand up 1 vs 10 and I honestly don’t feel the sentences are enough to deters these kind of mob mentality attacks.

  2. 17 years is not enough for premeditated murder. They went to get the knife, went actively looking for someone to murder, attacked an innocent man as a pack from behind, and stabbed him in the back.

That level of planned evil – I don’t care if you were 15 when you did it, you should never get out of prison.

  3. ‘The 15yr old with the blade who had moved to the north east to escape a city’s gang and knife culture to serve at least 17 years.’

Doesn’t seem like an escape so much as an opportunity to be the big man. Throw the little prick in with the adult gen-pop and see how long he lasts.

  4. Houghton Feast’s funfair has always caused trouble between youths from ‘rival’ villages, but this is definitely the worst it’s been.

I can see this year’s being very heavily policed now (there’s a police station literally yards from where the stabbing happened, but it’s only manned during office hours due to cuts).

  5. Disgustingly lenient sentences. Some of these kids will be out by their early to mid twenties. For a murder. Should be 30 years minimum.

  6. I’m glad this has finally made national news, it’s not enough of a sentence, but it’s more than most get, and I’m shocked the cps charged all 10, hopefully they keep taking a tough stance on these kinds of crimes and help deter others, state of this country for knife crime is so bad these days.

  7. Every single description of the attackers states ‘low to average intelligence with one having a learning disability’.. no, our problem is lack of education by schools, parents and society.. it’s true you can only lead a horse to water but Jesus Christ this is a total failing in soo many people on soo many levels, the blame lies with everyone surrounding these kids.. nothing to do with ‘gang’ culture or ‘drill’ music, our whole society needs to change, theres a clear difference between discipline and abuse, and there’s a clear lack of discipline EVERYWHERE.. when did people become un afraid of the police or prison? When did teachers QUIT TEACHING because they’re being abused by the kids? It’s backwards, my grandparents probably would’ve been put in prison themselves nowadays for the way they punished my parents and their generation, however EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM are upstanding, law abiding, home owning ‘successful’ people varying from tailors for amarni on savile row, to even just like my father who worked a menial job worked hard and saved for the future, all have ‘respectable’ families, none of which commit crime, some have successful business of their own.. most have degrees or equivalent, im not saying I agree with the way the did things however it’s an example I can use personally to strengthen my opinion.. it starts from the ground up and right now we’re suffering from serious subsidence and it’s only going to get worse.. present but absent parents too wrapped up in instagram seeing fabricated pictures and homes showing what is realistically unobtainable for the average joe, the modern day version of keeping up with the jones’.. or sticking their nose into or airing peoples dirty laundry on Facebook.. too busy participating in multiple affairs on Snapchat, I mean that shit took effort before the birth of mobile phones lol.. rather than teaching their children anything, absolutely anything.. surely it’s our job to show kids ‘look don’t stick the knife in the socket because you’ll get a nasty shock’ rather than having our heads in our phones, or emails to just go ‘yeh give it a go and see what happens’, because it’s easier for us.. Put the tech down, pick up a book, teach, read, explore, learn.. set an example don’t be the example

Of course this just my opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs, and I’m not trying to blanket everyone or tar everyone with the same brush because absolutely there are wildly varying factors and anomalies in everything

  8. I bet the neighbourhood where these tramps live is breathing a sigh of relief having 10 removed in one swoop. That’s a serious amount of tramps terrorising an area one day and then all gone for between 10 to 17 years the next.

    RIP Jack.
