  1. At the end, despite of all the news about climate change, I feel nobody cares anough.

Because everybody is wanting for authorities and corporations technological and industry policies solutions to magically reduce the impact of our living in the ecosystem, without reducing our consumption and altering our life style to a sustainable approach.

I am not saying that avarege household reducing consumption and changing lifestyle alone would solve the problem. But we can’t expect sucessiful solutions to our ever increasing consumption. Governments and Industries will always prioritise industry profts. It is not possible to create a sustainable society based on consumerism (profts).

Consumer choices making what is profitable to industries.

For instance, I switched off my refrigerator 3 years ago and I realised I really don’t need one. Most of things we put in refrigerator don’t really need being refrigerated and you can make a mini refrigerator with ceramics pots and water.

We have old technologies that works great and is 100% sustainable. They are only not “fashionable” and not profitable to industries. We can build houses that is always fresh inside regardless the temperature outside without AC and heater using natural materials in construction and intelligent design.

Cotton is the most wasteful energy, water, and pretrocemical to produce. It is not sustainable at all and it last the least. It also accumulate more bacteria, meaning it becomes amelly after 1 or 2 days and require more often wash. So why are people buying cotton clothes? The industry like it because wasteful means faste profts (more consumption).
Compared to hemp, alpaca, merino and bamboo that are cheaper to produce, last way longer, are more sustainable and we can use more while washing less often because they don’t accumulate bacteria as much (they don’t smell after one or two days wearing them).

Do we really need 10 jeans, 30 t-shirts, 5 hats? For years I have been using one 1 jeans and the same 5 t-shits.

Lawn is an other killing of biodiversity and problem for climate. Households could decrease the impact of food industry in the ecosystem (not only in the farming process but transportation and shops too) by converting their lawns in permaculture and small agroforest. Even a tiny space of land can produce a lot of food, retains water and protect many biodiversity with a good permaculture design.

I don’t believe any true systematic change to protect the planet and the life in the planet if people only keep waiting for authorities and CEOs solution.

I believe the solution is in what worked before but became out of fashion when authorities became the monopolisers of decisions and power. The solution is simply community. Not community in an abstract way that is used in our liberal society. I mean real community, which means people taking responsibilities for the their own lives and empowering their own autonomy in finding solution and adapt to them regardless industries.

We can not vote and we can not buy our way out of climate catastrophy. Such bourgeoisie mentality must be abandoned and we should return to our communal roots.
