My man, the Romanians are complaining about our roads. Maybe, just maybe our government could start providing the amenities we pay taxes for, instead of them lining their pockets through nepotistic surplus governments and dodgy “partners”
Do you want dutch road quality / infra and planning? If yes, are you willing to pay dutch car taxes, fuel taxes and scrap about 50% of our roads? If you want the infra, pay for it.
The funny thing is that the nice asphalt is on the Belgian side.
I used to travel to the netherlands for work quite a lot, we called the border the “good morning bump”
Time to all buy a caravan and drive to Northern Germany every year.
Roads in Belgium are fine, the really Belgian thing is to cynically complain and compare to the very best and then say they suck.
I don’t get it ?
I live near the border. Litterly first sign in Belgium is: “wegdek in slechte staat”.
They see it as a ugly road we see it as protection for a upcoming war
Dit gebeurt tussen gemeentes ook. Mooi asfalt in gemeente A en bij de grens met gemeente B ineens klassieke betonplaten….
We’ve had a temporary “wegdek in slechte staat” sign near where I live for 15 years. The road isn’t fixed, but the sign fell and never got replaced. But honestly, most of our roads are pretty good
Two reactions.
“The shitty road must be in Belgium because their roads suck!”
And “Actually, the good road is in Belgium because of wasteful spending!”
Why they hate Belgium so much tho ? I’ve just read a bunch of comments that are borderline racist that’s pitiful
Actually I like the (counterintiutively) Dutch side of this picture better, less sunlight absorption, natural drainage (no waste of rainwater), kinda cute-looking yet not too bumpy.

Funny that a lot of Dutchies prefer to live in Belgium… the only thing we miss over here is legal cannabis.
