Does anyone recognize the location in this photo? My friend flew to Germany (from the US) in June and carried out a plan to die by suicide. He posted this photo to his twitter the day he died. I know it’s vague, but his death has all been a riddle and I guess I’m just looking for anything.

Well it’s close to the “Fernsehturm” in Berlin but I guess you’re looking for more specific information. Sorry for your loss!
Sorry for you lost. Looks like Berlin. I think it is the “Berliner Fernsehturm”
Thank you for your answers! Do you think that’s possibly a train track on the other side of the fence?
the light makes me think its an afternoon picture,
the sun set in the west
so i assume this picture was taken between
Rosa-luxemburg-platz – hackescher markt – mühlendammbrücke
not much further away from the tv-tower.
that camera and fence are pretty interesting since we ususally dont have those on many buildings. maybe a political building..
if he did it, it will be in the local news
Looks more like a gate than a fence. And this camera…maybe a prison or some private secured property
Maybe something for r/whereisthis
Sorry for your loss
Looks like the Berliner Fernsehturm or Berlin ‘TV Tower’ at Alexanderplatz. Sorry for the loss 🙁
It may be from the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, looking toward the Fernsehturm.
This particular view in your photo is unfamilar to me, but the stones look like fom the memorial, and the view would be from one of the out edges.
In Google Streetview: If you go to Behrenstrasse toward the tree line and look to the left you can see the Fernsehturm.

I am sorry about your friend.
That place is a very sad place; probably people who want to die are drawn to it, to feel close to the dead.
What is the timestamp in the Tweet (or metadata from photo even better)
