I’ve been kayaking this week down the Hampshire Avon and it’s extremely close to bursting its banks. It’s fuller than most years and I can’t explain it because there has been no proper rain for months.
>Cornwall, central England, north Wales, east Scotland and parts of the north-east have had a “moderately dry” six months
What they don’t mention here is that the 6 months prior to the what feels like normally damp summer was insanely wet with rain falling for a month at a time over the winter.
I vaguely remember being taken to the source of the River Thames.
A long, long time ago. I’m sure there was a statue of Neptune there.
Damn peasents! This is their bloody fault! So what if we allowed pollution of the rivers and haven’t slapped the water companies for continuing to waste millions of litres of water. So what? It’s their poxy fault with their cries of needing more cash. IF they only served us without protest, we would never see this! – The tory party.
Is there a way the North can sell rain to the South?
Every day since the 2 day heat wave there has been rain here!

i am sure climate change has nothing to do with it. /s
That high up the river it’s a piss-ant little stream, not worthy of the name.

Let’s crackdown on renewables development though, eh Truss?
This happened in the 1976 drought I recall.
On the Thames and its source this is a good watch for anyone wanting random knowledge
