Hi Hellas,
I recenty discovered a Greek song and I like it much. I wonder if these types of songs are popular in Greece? I do not why but the melody sounded very familiar. I am Turkish and it gives me the joy I found in some of our folk songs. Maybe the instruments are similar.
Here is the song,

I would appreciate if you offer similar songs.

Hello! Yes it is a very popular genre of music. Some call it entechno but it can have other names too. A lot of artists come in mind like Glykeria, Elena Tsaligopoulou, Sokratis Malamas, Eleftheria Arvanitaki and many many more. It is a music very similar to the Byzantine folklore maybe this is why it sounds similar!
Byzantine hymns like the Easter ones are very cool too and you can find them on YouTube, no need to be religious to enjoy them.
Greek and Turkish music share similar background. It is very normal that you like it.
Can you share with us some similar Turkish songs?
Would be interested to listen to.
