Channel crossings: UK offer to patrol French beaches ‘still on table’

  1. This was put better than the last clumsy attempt to almost try to shame the French into doing something. It is going to be a long term issue, and it’s not like we don’t already send police to places like Ibiza and Magaluf, to help with what I’ll politely call our
    overly rambunctious holiday makers.

  2. >Clandestine Channel Threat Commander Dan O’Mahoney

The UK has a Clandestine Channel Threat Commander?

That’s definitely up there on my list with NATO’s [Supreme Allied Commander](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supreme_Allied_Commander) and NASA’s [Planetary Protection Officer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisa_Pratt) (not to be confused with NASA’s [Planetary Defense Officer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planetary_Defense_Coordination_Office) — the former deals with biologicals).

  3. > French Prime Minister Jean Castex said on Thursday it “cannot accept” the presence of UK police or soldiers.

Everything you need to know is here

  4. The UK government couldn’t live with 4 EU customs agents in Belfast but now wants to patrol French beaches. I have no idea what drugs the UK government is taking, but it’s definitely an unhealthy amount…
