Well that tends to happen when you deal with terrorists
Nestlé deserves to lose a few billions…
Russian “expropriation blackmail” is hardly a new thing, the first time I can remember it happening is getting on for fifteen years ago when BP was forced out of a considerable portion of it’s investment.
I guess some of them (if not most) are still waiting for a “quick” end of the war. Thus, if they see that it lingers for indefinite time, then they probably will terminate any business with Russia.
Well whatever. I don’t understand why companies in the first place put themselves in the spot to deal with countries where the rule of law is dependant on crooky leaders. Ah yes because some manager has to buy a Ferrari more. Very poor mindset and now we have it. We delivered knowledge tools and technologies to countries that should have been growing on their pace without acquiring advanced technology in the first place. What do they do now with this technology or those leftover companies ? They make it their own cloning the original and fitting it to their needs. This will inflict a loss to the companies that made deals with the devil in the first place. Some of this companies and managers wanted to play along with the globalization playbook because they saw their balance sheet and their bonuses skyrocket at first. But what does this help in a world where climate change will destroy entire economies, lives and war for political supremacy and natural resources goes on and does the rest? It will help absolutely nothing. So the logic of accumulating wealth beyond belief will bring us on the brink of extinction by war and climate change.
Expropriation of foreign assets in Russia = selling of Russian assets that are currently frozen abroad.
Don’t know why is this even a discussion topic.
