Just a thought but maybe parking on a beach isn’t a good idea, standard tires aren’t really built for driving on sand
Fuckin eejits.
Procession of cars parked up as close to the waterline as possible and it was only just a full moon and all at the start of the weekend, so the tide could get extra high… They deserved what they got for the water damage.
What in the actual fuck.
well deserved.
Fucking idiots, you see it at Duncannon beach every year.
Day trippers who fail to understand that the tide goes in, they also refuse to listen to locals when they are told the tide will come in.
That’s what you get for firstly parking on a beach like a fuck face
And to think this year they banned dogs from blue flag beaches to protect the beach
There really is no hope for some people. How dense can you be. Living on an island and not being able to grasp the simple concept of the tide going in and out. Not a brain between them.
Gobshites
I don’t get how a beach that has cars parked on it can have a blue flag.
is it me, or that looks like an ioniq5 stuck in water? If so, that EV is donzo. I hope this person learns their lesson and insurance refuse payout because of stupidity
Parking on a beach shouldn’t be allowed in the first place. For the scenery, and security of everyone. I’m not going to the beach to have a view of your fucking Ford Fiesta. It’s a pedestrian area, period.
Definitely Dubs on their “bleedin holliers wha”
Expensive lesson there. Somehow I doubt the insurance will cover the car being destroyed by the incoming tide after the owner put it there on purpose.
How is it a blue flag beach with dirty cars allowed on it? BAN CARS
This just in, “stupid people are suffering the consequences of doing something stupid, more on this story as it unfolds”
They should build a 200 space car park for the 2 days we need it.
Bloody people using beaches. Makes me sooo mad.
yeah, definitely /r/FuckCars material
The number of cars in Ireland has doubled in 30 years. If we don’t accept that and create public transport options for accessing our natural heritage, we will lose them and will deserve to lose them.
Wtf are people allowed to drive on the beach anyway?
Doesn’t it destroy the habitats of animals that live on the beach?
Why are these fiends fucking bringing their fucking shit boxes on the beach?
Never seen cars on a beach, what the hell is this? Beach = People and towels (and dogs), even though dogs are usually banned from public beaches.
To be honest I hard disagree with most of these comments saying ban cars on the beach. If you’ve ever been to inch you’ll know there’s basically no parking and it’s only accessible by car realistically.
Like in reality a car isn’t going to ruin the environment on the beach and for 95% of the year the beach is quiet so a few cars parked up the back makes no difference to anything.
You could even argue a big fuck off car park next to the beach is more of an eye sore and more environmentally damaging.
They can hire a bicycle, should tide them over while the car dries out
Why is parking even allowed on the beach? It boggles mind to see cars there. In Poland, you’re not allowed to drive any motored vehicles past the entrances.
I have absolutely no pity.
Some of the most ignorant comments here! This thread is wild!!
I was there with the kids Saturday morning and parked above the tide line. We’ve been many times and yes the tide can rise fast. But everyone with sense keeps an eye on it and shifts in time, some expect nature to give them a break. By the time I left at 12.30 two rows of cars had parked in front of me, another sign it was time to leave. As for those who tell everyone to cycle or get a bus they are out of touch. People visit this country for places such as Inch, the public bus passes two to three times a day other then that your miles from the nearest town or shop. Some are giving out about keeping cats off beaches for scenic reasons and environmental. Would a mile of tarmac carpark be better for the environment?
