Italy’s Population Is Aging And Something Must Be Done

  1. Well, maybe if only our politicians cared to do something to encourage young people to remain in this country, maybe the trend could be reversed; right now the best thing young italians can do for themselves is leaving for any other EU country (or the US).

  2. Why must something be done?

Lots of benefits from letting the larger generations die out and not replace it with similar sized or bigger newer generations.

Controlling the population to both reduce the resources needed and allowing nature to reclaim its habitats is the smart thing to do.

  3. Can we just admit that humanity has largely peaked? Populations will be declining soon, climate change is catching up to us and there will never be another Industrial Revolution again.

It is an uncomfortable topic but too many assume that growth necessarily awaits us.

  4. In the last years of the GDR in the late 1980s, when the birth rate there was also in sharp decline, the Politburo reacted by broadcasting French or Italian soft porn on East German state television at midnight.

  5. Watch as the country fills up with immigration instead of encouraging Italians to make new Italians.

  6. Capital deepening, automation, robotics, deep overhaul of the justice system as well as of the school system. That’s what Italy needs.

  7. Something must be done! Something must be done!

It’s simple, automation and immigration. Automate stupid work and get young immigrants in to do the smart work. Italians have the largest percent pension compared to salary, so they need a high value added economy to finance this.
