Thank god. Provided nothing illegal happens (I wouldn’t put it past some of the more extreme ‘supporters’ to resort to violent attacks against the hospital) this should be the end of this saga.
May Archie rest in peace, and hopefully the family end up doing a whole lot of grief counselling and take time away from social media and the cameras.

So tomorrow, expect them to lodge a new case at the High Court, asking for withdrawal of treatment to be delayed while they obtain medical opinions from doctors in Turkey and Japan they’ve supposedly found who can treat him, and then allowing them to take him out of the country.
I’d be shocked if this really is the end of it. I just hope it is.
Edit: well, I was partly right. They’re going to go to court so they can move him to a hospice, delaying everything yet again.

I can see her either trying to start a legal appeal to be allowed to take him to a hospice, or whichever country she is saying can provide treatment. Ignoring the fact that she previously argued he was too ill to be even transported within the hospital for scans..
Hopefully they just accept the inevitable now and stop.

She is now saying that dying in a busy hospital room is undignified and she should die in a garden, surrounded by birds and squirrels. It seems like his mum wants him to die in a scene from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
I guess the funding stops when he’s dead.
The life support should have been turned off long ago, fair enough if they paid for the equipment and energy themselves but currently the average uk citizen is paying to pump blood and oxygen around a dead body.
That poor kid, nothing but sympathy for Archie. The way his mother has turned this into a circus makes me feel sick. I’m sure his mother will try to drag it out even longer just for the publicity.
I’m sure we’ll see the inevitable book deal emerge in a few months time…

What she has yet to realise is that she lost authority over what happens to her son when she asked the court to decide what should be done.

God, the whole thing is a mess. I’m sympathetic to the mother since she’s clearly highly traumatised by the death of her child, but really, it’s gone too far. Her grief is causing resources to be wasted on a dead child. It’s a massively unfair situation for everybody involved. I hope that she accepts his death soon because once they pull life support, there’s officially a corpse to deal with, and if she won’t organise the funeral, then somebody else will.
Actually, that’s an interesting question – is it legal to refuse to dispose of a corpse? Would somebody else step in to have the body buried/cremated/otherwise disposed of?
No recent photographs? No investigation into his/it’s internet history published?

Just waiting for a ‘compassionate’ MP looking for votes siding with the mother to get a law passed that will protect the rights of brain stem dead patients.

This woman is all in for the attention, fancy standing on the back of your poor son to try to get a warped level of fame. He deserves a dignified passing and instead his mum’s dragging him through the mud for her own gain.
I cant begin to imagine her grief, but she has to take steps to heal, rather than refusing to accept Archie is gone.
I read this morning that they will launch a high court bid to have Archie moved to a hospice. If that fails, which I imagine it would, does that mean the family could appeal it/take it higher just as they have to stop treatment being withdrawn?
It’s an absolute circus and news outlets need to stop giving it airtime. This doesn’t seem to be about Archie anymore, he’s been left without a scrap of dignity.
I hope the mum’s find a time to reflect and let go. Archie needs to passed with dignity. She should focus on finding time to grief and not put everything on the media and courts.

Honestly this has gone past a grieving parent now. This is someone trying to exploit people for personal gain, both monetary and fame.
What the family need is a therapist not this desperate attempt to keep pretending he’s not dead. It’s wasting preciously short bed space, worsening their grief process, and the media are completely enabling it.
It’s an awful case, the mother is clearly grieving and is facing trauma. Poor Archie should be allowed to die peacefully as there is no way he’ll survive.
However, there are a few things that don’t add up. The cause of his death is sketchy- she’s blamed a TikTok challenge when there are reports it was suicide.
She’s raised circa 45k in “go fund me” eventhough the treatment he’s received is free on NHS. So god knows what this 45k is going towards. She changes her story on where the money is going almost daily.
The more sinister thing is she’s being preyed upon by some weird Christian charity who are funding her delays- they’re fighting “he has a heartbeat so he’s alive”. Although all evidence clearly states he’s physically dead.
The “charity” know she’s vulnerable and an easy target to exploit in this charade- it’s their ambition to win the case to say “aha!! Well abortion is murder in a court room as they have a heartbeat!! Abortion should be made illegal”
It’s pretty disturbing and I hope what happens is in the best interest of Archie’s health ultimately, however tough it is for his parents
