Background for those unaware.
They are singing: “Oh Grace just hold me in your arms and let this moment linger, they’ll take me out at dawn and I will die”.
>Joseph Plunkett was an Irish nationalist, republican, poet, journalist, revolutionary and a leader of the 1916 Easter Rising. Joseph was executed in Killmainham prison, just 7 hours after he married Grace Gifford.
Grace was one of six girls and six boys born to a wealthy unionist family, with a Catholic father and Protestant mother. All the children were brought up Protestant, but the boys were baptised Catholic.
Not shown; kids wearing “UP THE RA” headbands or professional footballers with “Tiochfaidh ar la” written across their chests in the shape of an AK47.
For all the loyalist lampooning done on this sub, it’s awfully quiet when it comes to Nationalists/Republicans acting in the same sectarian manner.
