Last time when I mentioned this I was down voted to oblivion. Automation is the future. Most advance underground system around the world are already mostly automated.
Famous con man shapps who knows nothing about the railway as a whole and constantly spreads lies and half truths ? Yeah bucket of salt with that one.
Automation is gonna require so much investment and so many years. It will happen but fuck me it’s gonna be a bastard to get there.
That’s fine, I assume he’s offering billions of pounds to refit the network and trains and stations for this? Or is he just whinging yet again?
Our government may be a bunch of arrogant entitled arseholes, but on this one, Schapps is right.
To be clear, it’s years of investment in the future. But it is coming.
**So is the government mate.** Wu-hey!
He really has no understanding how negotiations work, does he
Victoria line was built to be automatic in the late sixties. The drivers simply open and close the doors. What a farce.
A first year computer science graduate working with a first year electrical engineer could build tube automation it’s that simple.
Make no mistake, the tube is only not automated because of your beloved unions. Not because of anything else.
The future might be but the present isn’t, also they are looking to cut staff from essential maintenance and I don’t think the future is maintenanceless.
Funny thing is driverless trains STILL NEED DRIVERS.
Lets look at the DLR kek? It still requires atleast 1 member of staff to be stationed on the train incase a fault develops and the train needs to be moved manually also for shunting them in and out of sidings and depots.
I mean maybe. But not the near or medium term future.

No one in the UK will be able to afford to have and run a car in the future, hence no drivers!
