Met chief Cressida Dick ‘may have breached professional standards’ over Daniel Morgan inquiry

  1. Or to put it another way she obstructed an investigation into police corruption and a murder

  2. The coverup continues. Will we ever find out what truly happened to Daniel Morgan? Absolutely exasperating on every level.

  3. Wow, its always the one’s you least expect right.

I mean who could have foreseen the idiot who had a long history of shady activities, heavy handed and questionably legal responses and was pals with politicians accused of sabotaging the police was also bent?

  4. This needs upvotes for visibility.

Seriously. These fucks are corruption incarnate and are basically getting off scot free with rhetoric and blunder.

  5. This headline is doing some serious editorialising.

Here is the actual quote, and the relevant passage:

    https://t.co/DQ1rOCT9Xr

    “may have
breached the standards of professional behaviour but which does not justify
disciplinary action. Therefore no conduct matter can be recorded”

” There is no evidence to indicate Commissioner Dick intended to protect corrupt
officers. Ultimately, it appears the inquiry received access to all relevant material
and access to the entire HOLMES accounts. She appears to have acted in the
genuine belief she had a legitimate policing purpose, due to concerns about
protecting the information, but may have got it wrong by prioritising those
concerns over her duty to facilitate full and exceptional disclosure to the Panel.
As explained above, taking all the circumstances into account, including how long
ago it was and that no complaint had been made at the time, in our view,
disciplinary action would not be justified had she still been serving. Therefore,
the criticisms in the report do not meet the required threshold for a conduct
matter to be recorded and there are no grounds on which to exercise the power
of initiative. Our view of the evidence on these issues appears to be consistent
with the findings of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire &
    Rescue Services (HMICFRS).”

  6. Can someone explain what exactly happened and was covered up in the Daniel Morgan case? The article just lists an axe attack, was it the police that did it?
