A bit of Reddit history for you guys

  1. I joined after this but i would do a meet up sometime in the future. I’ll add my face to the next one if all you folks are up for it? haha :P. They also look like people that you can relax and be yourself with if i’m to be honest.

  2. The girl with the heart t shirt and the ginger fella beside her look like a couple, did ye end up getting married

  3. I used to do some volunteering for the German Eidos Forum back when I was 19/20 and met some great people through it. We met a few times throughout the years even after I had moved to Ireland. Sound people and greatest craic I ever had. Sometimes it does work out to meet your heroes.

Fair play for organising this event years ago. May the friendships you found last forever.

  4. People commenting saying “they look exactly how I’d imagine lol”, seem to be missing the irony that you also are on Reddit and chances are far higher that you are exactly like these people. You are not the social butterfly good looking exception casually seeing what the others are up to.

  5. I was at the first Boards Beer (circa 2003 ?), This looks like a Victorias Secret christmas party compared to the photos from that

  6. I met lots of boardies at a Boards Beers way back in the day. And I met Brucon beard in this photo a long time ago too. It’s really a small world.

  7. I wonder who has the most upvotes.

    Actually wait…it’s r/Ireland I should rephrase that..

I wonder who has the least downvotes?

  8. A lot of people talking big talk in this thread, making shite comments from behind a keyboard… pricks…

The photo just shows a bunch of normal looking people

  9. “Oh, I recognise a few of them… oh, and there I am.”

This was Captain America’s, years and years ago. It was mostly quite genial. I think we went to the Longstone before/after this, or some other pub with a decent beer garden. I think I left after that, while they carried on to other pubs/nightclubs/who knows. Never met most of them before or since, and have no idea what happened to almost everyone I did know.

  10. Jaysus there’s a serious amount of insecure pricks here taking the piss out of people based on their looks. Get a life…🙄

  11. Looks like a cross section of the people you’d pass in the street, so no different from now I’d guess. No weirdo you’d cross the street to avoid (that I can see). I don’t get the nasty comments, especially as hairstyles / clothing etc are reflective of the era.

I’m not sure I’d attend a Reddit Ireland meet-up myself – Ireland is too much of a village and I’d probably meet a work colleague, then have my posts dissected by HR

  12. I’ve actually been doing this here in Vancouver since March with people from r/Vancouver4Friends. Been hosting meet ups almost every week since and have made a nice group of friends who I hang out with all the time.

When organised properly you can meet some really great people. Definitely recommend it, you just need to be okay with having to deal with some not so great people and not inviting them back.

  13. The way people went on about the infamous Reddit Ireland photo and how they looked, I thought it would be furries and fedora wearing neckbeards.

This just looks like a normal bunch of people.

  14. Why mock people you never saw before.
Look like an ordinary bunch of guys and gals.
Sad when people mock other Irish people based on their looks.

  15. I don’t get the comments here. Everyone seems fairly normal.

It’s easy to spot the lads on here who are just bitter at the world for no apparent reason.
