The way this is reported you’d think Scholz is the only person in the continent to hold this opinion.
Meanwhile it’s actually multiple countries including France.
Weird.
If it goes like this eastern european countries will create a Maginot Line against Russian civilians.
While I understand the view of the baltic states, I really don’t think the opinion will be shared outside of them. Yes the war in Ukraine is an incredibly complex situation, but banning Russians completely (barring humanitarian visas) is an illogical solution and not one that many would support.
On one hand we say that Russians are brainwashed and on the other we say it’s completely their fault. The Putin they voted for in his first election is not the same man now as time has shown. The state is one in which if they speak out against they’re jailed.
An outright ban on Russians is insane and feels more like something Russia would do too Europe and not what Europe would do to Russia. Target the elites, not the normal man.
>“This is not the war of the Russian people, but it is [Vladimir] Putin’s war,” Scholz said during a press conference Monday in Oslo.
I’ll assume putler personally tortured every person in bucha then. while holding mariupol surrounded all by himself
what a moronic fucking take
>“it is important to us to understand that there are a lot of people fleeing from Russia, because they are disagreeing with the Russian regime.”
because the only direction you can go from russia is presumably eu, not turkey, nor any other direction.
Honestly I think the problem is that while people want to turn away Russians who support the war or annoying oligarchs and tourists they still want to leave a path for Russians who oppose Putin and who don’t want to live there anymore. They are divided on how best to achieve this and some fear an outright ban is too draconian.
Germany is working on brain drain in Russia so hard.
Did he say it three times, loudly, while banging is hand in the table? If not this is not news.
“Scholz has previously raised doubts about the effectiveness of the tool, arguing that a blanket ban on everyone would undermine the purpose and effect of targeted sanctions that have been applied to those supporting the war.”
Can anyone explain how it would undermine the sanctions?
Finally someone sane, the point is no one banned invader countries citizens before in Europe or whole world, so banning Russians just for them being Russian is unfair and insane. Simple mentality do it to everyone or don’t do it bro.
Finland supports the ban as well. The EU will decide at the end of August
We should do the opposite imo. Let Russians in but don’t let them return to their homeland
Edit: it’s a joke
Question, can anybody tell how specifically does the EU decide on EU-wide ban? Do they need unilateral agreement, some majority, is there some specific EU concil that decides?
Mate, just let them have the visas… But only if they survive the journey through Ukraine by car.
33 years after the Berlin Wall came down, some people seem to think it was a good idea after all. And they’re to be the anti-Kremlin ones.
Germans are not able to detach their politics from Russia for ages. Cowards were selling whole Europe just for their own gain. Scholz – go to work, stop spreading post WWI, WWII propagnada. Enough is eough you little weak prick.
Can’t Germany just take all the russian tourists if they want them so much? Pay for their transport too.
