  1. Some people only seem interested in making others around them miserable. How they think this action will garner goodwill for their cause, I have no idea. Don’t call them activists, call them vandals and fine them accordingly.

  2. “Aandacht vragen voor de bescherming van het milieu” door… bloemen te vertrappelen… Not the smartest move to make a point!

  3. Zo vandalisme is een rekensom maken en factureren.

Ik vraag me af of de uitbaters iets met vuil geld te maken hebben.

  4. Will somebody just fuck them please

Edit: To those woke imbeciles downvoting me. This is precisely what it is; an expression of sexual frustration. Of course you’re going to fight tooth and nail to not admit it, because it’s embarassing. But deep down you know i’m right.

  5. Is there anyone at all who thinks after an action like this “these people convinced me! These are the people i want to follow!”

  6. The water used for these flowers is peanuts compared to what is wasted regularly every day and it’s a stupid action that does nothing but anger uptight petit-bourgeois Belgians. It does nothing in the grand scheme of things. It is a symbolic display of impotence. I don’t think this action was good, but I do completely understand feeling so frustrated at everyone that you want to do something…Reading the predictable comments here I can’t help but feel we all are really so petty and near sighted. Honestly, the amount of ‘dont-look-up’ obliviousness and carelessness in our society toward our environmental problem is maddening.

And just for the record, the flower industry is not ‘nature’, it is a global multinational supply chain, and is pretty bad for the environment. Look into it. Try to buy from local growers, and try not to buy flowers shipped in from Kenia or invasive super-spreaders and whatnot. Also in winter you can buy dried flowers. People used to do this because of common sense, and these dried flowers last all winter.

  7. my biggest issue with this: you can try and convey any message by just getting in the spotlight for 5 sec in the end by destroying sth, it feel a bit empty no? we see it everyday? you see you’re competitors walking around in a flower field? no! they were walking on the street doing work

  8. Well, they got the attention, but I wonder if anyone in Belgium thinks that this will change peoples minds? ‘Oww no, they really mean ot this time! They trampled on our flowers!’

What’s next? Gaia taking over a McDonalds restaurant and eats its own meat to try to make us aware of the problems?

  9. Imagine reading ‘How to Blow Up a Pipeline’ and then seeing that flower carpet as a legitimate target that warrants escalatory tactics.

My tolerance for disruptive climate activism is fairly high, but this is simply dumb.

  10. “We are against capitalism! Its evil! Now please listen to our lecture on why the world is better off being communist. What do you mean tens of millions of deaths, genocides and cultural oppression? Those are just lies spread by fascist capitalism”
