    > “They’ve targeted ours which is a Skoda SUV and further up the road they’ve let the tyres down on a hybrid Honda.

    > “They need educating on what is a gas guzzler as most of these cars are not.”

Sounds about right. They’ve gone after anything with a big body with no thought for how it might be utilised – sure there’s lots of ‘urban’ SUV’s but there’s also people with larger families, pets, hobbies, equipment they need to move, locations not serviced by public transport that they need to reach etc. which would justify a more spacious vehicle than a hatchback or saloon (or not using public transport).

Speaking of which, no sign of them going after [luxury saloons](https://www.whatcar.com/news/true-mpg-least-efficient-cars-revealed/n14360), some of which feature several times in the link above where other SUVs could’ve been included. Many of them have a far worse MPG than the Skoda SUV that James here presumably owns.

The whole thing smacks of badly thought out class envy rather than any logic attempt to protect the planet. With the police aware, hopefully they’ll be moving to prosecute for criminal damage.

  2. Targeting the 1.5l engined Skoda hybrid but completely ignoring the 3l M4 probably parked down the street just because “it’s an SUV”.

Don’t sound like the sharpest bunch.

  3. Vehicles should be taxed on their size as well as emissions. The extra space they take up impacts everyone and they should compensate society for that.

  4. I thought the point of this protest was against the ever growing size of cars, and attempt to stop the cascading effect of “everyone is driving a oversized car, so it’s only safe for me to get one too”

It has nothing to do with efficiency
