Just wanted to share a wholesome small talk I had with a person from Turkey. Do you guys get any nice interactions with mainland Turks on Reddit?

  1. yes, it is the politicians and “leaders” that have stalled the pathway to a solution. The old codgers who still harbour hate, resentment, fear e.t.c

They are stuck in a detached from reality madness, believing that the enemy is coming over the hills with their pitchforks in one hand and phone in the other, LOL.

we are going to have to find a way to force a reunification, we don’t need representation from “leaders” who are stuck in 1970 rambling the same nonsense, their narcissistic echo chamber of diarrhoea.

  2. Every now and then I get someone that wants to engage and discuss, but a lot of them see us as genocidal monsters so it’s hard to get your point across when they have already made up their mind.

That being said, my interactions with mainland Turks irl are mostly fantastic. They love that I know random Turkish words and we have a great chat.

  3. yeah usually. Mainland turks just like a lot of Mediterranean’s are warm family orientated people. having lived in the west for so long now i miss how warm turks and other Mediterranean’s are in general towards other people. the hospitality is awesome. unlike some westerners who are completely cold and reserved. you do obviously get assholes in every country though, and they are usually the most vocal. so i guess it depends on who you speak to just like anywhere else in the world.
