He ran 10.19s in the heats, only 0.01s off Paul Hession’s 15 year old national record, and finished very strongly against some incredibly strong opposition to finish second in his semi in 10.20s and take the auto qualifier, behind only Olympic 100m champion Marcell Jacobs. Hopefully he smashes that national record in the final.

  2. Update: he finished in 6th in a new national record of 10.17s. Just 0.04s off a medal, great achievement and he’s only 20.

  5. I love how diverse our country has become. The fact that we can compete better in athletics now is quite a plus. There seems to be a whole generation of second generation immigrant athletes competing for ireland across all sports so it’ll be interesting to see the change in our sporting heroes across the decades
