I was wondering why the local radio station – which has the sum total of about eight and a half songs on rotation – starting banging out Colourblind.
Shame – young lad after all.
Sad – his Britney Spears audition on Pop Idol was both bizarre and legendary tv.
Actually pretty sad about this – I loved him on Pop Idol 2002!
No way! That’s really sad.
Shame that I really admired how he had the whole country take the piss out of him and he still came back and made a success of himself.
Actually feel sadder than I’d expect about this considering I don’t know him personally or follow his career.

It’s been 20 years since Colourblind was no.1, and it still slaps.
Pop-star tried to make a fool of him but he came back to finish 3rd on pop idol & also won a celebrity show called popstar to opera star. He had a wonderful voice & Colourblind was a great song. So sad to hear of his passing.
I don’t know why this death in paticular but this feels like such a mind fuck for me, RIP.
I liked his Britney rendition and I always thought Colourblind was a banger if a little insensitive to the colourblind community.

Sad. I bumped into him in Knightsbridge once and he really was a nice guy. I know everyone comes out and says stuff like that when someone dies, but he was. He was friendly and funny and definitely more low key than I’d imagined.
Sad. That’s no age to go 🙁 hope his family and friends are getting the support they need
My mum was obsessed with Colourblind. So much so, that she got me to program it into her Nokia as was the fashion at the time.
I remember her phone going off on the bus and her saying “oh! Someone has the same ringtone as me!” and completely missed the call. Sounds odd but my c.2003 is dominated by his first album. He will be missed, by mums everywhere!
Colourblind is a brilliant song. Will be playing it tonight for sure.
I feel sad about this. It says he was found in his bed. His song This Kinda Love was a bop. 🙁 RIP.
Married that girl from the film Species too.. Some boy.
Damn that’s so young! It’s sad. I loved his whole album Dive In, a lot of it reminds me of things I wanted to say to a guy I had a crush on in the early 2000’s.
I have one memory that Darius showed up at a big local fireworks display that my family went to every year and set the whole thing!

Really sad news. He was actually one of the first pop stars I remember enjoying as a child. That first album had some bops!
Saw him on stage in Gone With the Wind a few years ago and he really was a shining light in a pretty mediocre production. I think the stage fitted him really well, and it’s a shame we won’t get to see more from him.
Met him on a flight back from LA in 2009. He was being upgraded to business class at the time my wife and I called out to him before take off. He waved. 45mins into the flight he appeared at our seats where we were in economy class. Had a lovely chat with him and had our photo taken with him. A genuinely lovely and decent guy. Feel really sad about this news.
