So no different to any of the other big Thatcher-era privatisations then
I don’t think the Post Office privatisation was Thatcher-era but no less of a giant rip off for the people.
I wish I could find someone in England that could maybe one day have me visit there. I have respect for the country and would not act foolish.
So just like most privitisation.
The version of capitalism that has appeared since Thatcher is bad for us all, its pro monopoles and all the problems they cause and just left to fester. They made intentionally multiple monopolies for critical services that if they failed people would die in their millions and did almost nothing to regulate any of it.
The role of governments in capitalism is to ensure fair markets, to punish bad actors and to promote behaviour and values that bring confidence in the market and deliver benefits to society as a whole. Why they abandoned this basic premise is nuts but its the reason why people are now talking about ending capitalism. The rich just got too greedy and its hurting democracy and millions of people.
It always amazed me that the Conservative Government were able to sell off to the public something that they already owned?
I could understand making it county or even county conglomerate run but all out privatisation was a farce!
Is this the reason why tap water is absolutely atrocious?

Why did you not speak about it sooner?
