Even onze huidige tariefstructuur nagekeken: nu ziet Farys als basisverbruik 30m3 per domicilie + 30 m3 per bewoner, alles daarboven is comfortgebruik aan een hoger tarief. Voor ons twee komt dit op 90 m3 per jaar aan basistarief. We proberen goed op ons verbruik te letten: vorig jaar 52 m3 (was enkele jaren geleden nog 75 m3). Ik vraag me af of voor een gezin met kinderen dat basisverbruik volstaat, ik heb er eigenlijk geen idee van? Ik hoor in onze omgeving mensen vertellen dat ze meerdere keren per dag een douche nemen: ‘s ochtends, na het sporten, ‘s avonds. Als je dat dan met zijn vieren doet zit je allicht snel in het comforttarief? Tenzij men nog een extra luxetarief instelt zou de rekening voor veel gebruikers, met name gezinnen, omhoog gaan?

Unlike energy, which is something that lower class people often have a hard time saving, water usage tends to increase with income.
But a ban, or at least tax, on pumping up ground water should be included as well. Or we’ll see ground water levels drop even more.
They need to introduce a progressive pricing for water consumption. Basic level consumption is completely free. Take a bath every day? Priced as today. Fill a swimming pool every week? Priced at double or triple the current price. Has the advantage of actually making water a right for basic needs.

So it sounds like the plan isn’t to *measure* who uses how much for this purpose (though that might be fair, as I don’t know if that’s even possible), but to calculate how much water whatever agency is in charge for this is thinks an average family needs, and then add taxes on however much they go over that… which means that, depending on what they think is an ‘average’ family, could impact larger families that might not even be able to afford such luxury items
i have no problem paying a higher price for water. but please step away from the ‘vastrecht’ and discounts for bigger families. this is just another tax on singles.

Makes sense, but in case of a build-in pool you almost never change the water. You fill it and then just keep the chlorine and filter going. If you properly install your pool, you barely waste any water.
So what you get is a higher cost for people who cannot afford a build in pool, as they have to refil their Intex pool each summer/spring.
So people who can’t afford a separate rainwater system or live in a house with old leaky piping are going to pay more.
Fix the leaks in the main water system and do some real watermanagement before implementing this kind of symbolic measures.

Dit heeft gewoon als doel dat je water dan aankoopt bij een prive-leverancier. Deze betalen al veel minder voor leidingwater dan een particulier. Dus hetzelfde water dat uit uw leiding komt kan je nu via een prive-leverancier dubbel zo duur aankopen.
