7 books for under 21euro. Actually chuffed with myself. Not sure what I’ve ahead of me with Angela’s Ashes and Ulysses but sure it’s an experience 😅 Said I’d share my find with you lot.

If you’re reading Angela’s Ashes then this video of Frank McCourt on the Late Late show is worth a watch, hilarious

I enjoyed the Bone Collector when I read it, actually – it’s a page turner and Angela’s Ashes is a rough one. As for Ulysses if you *do* read it, you get the exclusive privilege of having said you read it. Never made it through the first few pages as much as my ego(/inner pretentious hipster) wanted to.
Honestly I would recommend reading some of Joyce’s previous work before starting Ulysses. Dubliners and Portrait are very approachable and both have Wordsworth Editions so are dirt cheap.
you are a liar frank mccourt
There’s a whole cottage industry of companion volumes and such for Ulysses. Too many to list.
This site is also helpful.

My auld buddy, me auld pal, where are you picking them up for those prices?
Is this an ad for book world
PEDDLING LIES ABOUT LIMERICK!
Angela’s Ashes is very well-written. There’s a reason McCourt won the Pulitzer. While it deals with abject poverty, there’s also a dark sense of humor and almost a celebration of the human capacity for survival threading through the book.
Unfortunately, the reaction of some in Limerick meant that a lot of people who never even read Angela’s Ashes had strong opinions on it. The movie version didn’t help either.
What a haul! I spent 60 on 4 books yesterday so fair play for finding these bargains!
I will echo what others have said and use a guide for reading Ulysses. I stubbornly pushed through without a guide and while i understood most of it it was an unnecessary struggle i put myself through. But at least now i can say I’ve read it 😂
There’s an RTE podcast that explains each chapter of Ulysses on Spotify
Ah Jeffery Deaver, just change to location and character names a D you’ve read all of his books.
Every single book “Walk The Grid” and a detailed explanation of what forensic assistant should do.
Angela’s ashes is a great book, much less misery than the film.
That’s enough reading for a lifetime there 📖
Count of Monte Cristo is super slow, especially the part in Italy, but a great read
How much was the shipping cost if you dont mind me asking?
Angelas ashes is a great book I think he told a few porkie pies at the end of it though , end seemed a bit disjointed for me tbf.
Enjoy not reading Ulysses.
I’ve not read it around 5 times at this stage.
YOU HAMMERED YOUR MOTHER
I only got around to reading Ulysses because it was the only english language book in the bookshop when I was living in Spain.
It really isn’t as difficult as it’s reputation suggests.
With Angela’s Ashes you should expect LIES LIES and MORE LIES.
MISERTY MISERY MISERY THE WHOLE FLIPPIN WAY.
The best way to read a book is fully naked with a nice hot onion soup on standby.
Jeffery Dever is understated. He’s really good
A fine haul 👌
Angela’s Ashes is a book of lies about Limerick written by a self confessed liar Frank McCourt.
Is Jeffery Deaver any good?
Loved the Count of Monte Cristo. The multiple stories, the twists, the characters. Favourite bit was the grandfather and granddaughter’s relationship
I just got 17 books at the library totally chuffed and happy to support the system
ashes is trash, never heard of deaver, ulysses is too hard to enjoy without significant research.
But the count of monte cristo is an amazing shout.
