League of Ireland takes in € 8 million from Transfer fees to English Clubs and European Prize Money so far in 2022. This is excluding all other revenue generated. This shows the huge economic potential in LOI, and facilities should be central to any Urban Planning in the future.

I don’t think you have this in your post, but how much of that money is coming from transfers to English clubs?
While it’s great to see that money coming into the league, is it really beneficial or sustainable when a lot of that income depends on selling the league’s best players to foreign competitors?
There was more people at the Cavan County Final last year than there was at any of the European qualifiers for the LOI clubs. Until the LOI can appeal to the majority of football fans here then it won’t make any major inroads..
The fact of the matter is people put their soccer allegiance in a team that represents a city in the UK they can’t point out on a map.

We should put 5-a-sides on O’connell street
Heard the Bohs COO on a podcast recently saying he’s trying to get every club in the league to agree to not include release clauses in any contract, so if they do get a talented player they can sell for market value and not for a low transfer fee.
Bohs is the closest club to me and I’m pretty sure one of the stands in the ground is just totally out of use. I know the stadium is apparently going to be done up but it is absolutely dreadful at the moment, compared to the Tallaght Stadium for example.
Who gives a shit about football?
I wish they made more effort to have proper clubs in each county. Half the teams in the league are in Dublin. My local is nowhere near LOI standard, nor are any in my county.
Not to be a downer but €8 million across the whole island is pittins and not very promising for public or private investment
