Well, if they are 40 or under there is close a zero percent chance they will ever get a pension anyway,
Tracey, a specialist nurse from Devon, explained, “With about 30 years till I retire, I have to worry about what is going on at the moment…”
“Last month my pension payment was £443 – that could be paying my energy bills this winter”.
If that was her contribution for that month it means (assuming that was her contribution amount every month) that she earns around 50k a year. It also means the nhs contribution was around double that so nearly £1000.
Stopped my NHS pension this years I’m in arrears with the tax man despite only ever being PAYE. Regardless, my pension age went from 55 to 67 overnight. I’ve another 30 years to work. I think when I’m 67 the NHS pension age will be 80+. I’ll pay off the HMRC and then open a private pension instead.
I mean, if she can afford to put £443 into her pension every month then she earns a fuck load as it is… No sympathy here.
I recently had a session with a money adviser. They were suggesting to put more money into my pension pot. Seems odd, I need the money now, rather than in 35 years when I may retire.
