I thought the illustration on a new book by the Henry A. Kissinger Center for Global Affairs is interesting

  1. NATO casting a shadow over Moscow by 2030? 😀

also the shape of the flag looks like a weird dinosaur trying to eat Moscow 😀

  2. Eeeeh, the shadow over Central and Eastern Europe doesn’t look very positive.

The designer of this should’ve thought twice about it.

But then again it’s by the Kissinger Centre so perhaps they have a stiffy for unnecessary wars.

  3. Book synopsis would be handy. There is “NATO 2030” intiative to create a new strategy for NATO. Major focuses are:
    – NATO part in containing PRC and Russia and their influence in NATO members. Most sources inform that NATO is more focused on PRC influence in Europe rather than Russia influence in Europe tho.
    – New technologies with a priority for cyberwarfare and space warfare, but also there is interests in developments in artificial intelligence, data and computing, autonomy, quantum-enabled technologies, biotechnology and human enhancements, hypersonic technologies, and space. (Yay, we’re going full cyberpunk with european characteristics!)
    – Focus on NATO members resilience ie continuity of government and critical government services; the ability to deal effectively with uncontrolled movements of people; the ability to deal with mass casualties; ensuring the resilience of energy supplies; of food and water resources; of civil communications systems; and of transport systems, diversification of supply chains, as well as the critical infrastructure resilience.

    – Climate Change effects on NATO security enviroment.

    – Turining NATO from defence organisation to “platform of dialogue” between USA, EU and NATO members and support the “rules-based international order” within “increasingly complex European and transatlantic security environment”.
