Food from around the world! Today’s meal is from Norway

  1. Exremely overrated. Sheep’s meat boiled to death with some cabbage and black pepper, and a tiny bit of salt..

Pinnekjøtt, on the other hand – now, that’s some good use of sheep’s meat.

  2. As someone planning to move to Norway, I definitely appreciate the post.

I have questions though – I assume it is made differently (different seasonings) depending on who is cooking. Is that correct?

Are different parts of the sheep used, or always the same parts?

When a person takes a bite, do they typically try to get both the meat and the cabbage in one bite, or do they typically take a bite of only meat, then only cabbage?

If you’re u sure how most people do it, I’d like to know how you personally season it, and consume it.

    Thanks in advance!

  3. the smell and taste of this have always made me want to vomit. i think i even have. fårikål and boiled fish give me this reaction all throughout my childhood and adulthood. it is some of the wors thing ever i can eat

  4. In my opinion it is one of the worst of Norwegian food, only beaten by kålruletter. But each taste are different so enjoy!
