They are the worst delivery service. They once delivered a package in my backyard, inside a remorque (no clue how to call that in English.. transportation vehicule that you attach behind a car), and falsified the signature, sending me gibberish as proof I received the package in my own hands.
I fought the retailer for 1 month, as dpd is unreachable (except for a 2e/mn phone number) and filed a complaint to the police for identity theft (apparently the only thing to get them to treat my demand of ‘where the fuck is my package’)
Oh, I didn’t mentioned. My backyard is closed as we have dogs, and I was at home the entire day when they delivered. They just didn’t even bother ringing the door.
Edit : so I found my package 6 weeks later, because we eventually had some stuff to throw away and stumbled upon it.
Just call DPD and tell them you didn’t get the package.

DPD is weird as fuck. My friend had missed a few parcels on the same day, all delivered to different places for pick-up.
DPD are without doubt the worst. They once managed to dump one of my packages somewhere with no notification except ‘delivered’. After two days of trying neighbors and calling DPD I learned that it had been delivered at a company across the street, open from 10 to 16h, while I worked in Brussels, left before 7h, and returned after 18h.
Ik haat DPD kapot. Ik krijg al nerve als ik zie dat die mannen het gaan leveren. Geef mij maar B-Post. Wat moet het iest anders zijn om te beginnen anyway? FUCK buitenlandse post couriers.

DPD is shit I once ordered a fitness bank online. They had to deliver it FOUR times to my house because the box was always completely destroyed with parts missing so we had to send it back FOUR fucking times. In the end DHL delivered it to us without any problems. Echt een nutteloos bedrijf.

PostNL did the same yesterday, even though we were at home the delivery man didn’t even ring the doorbell or anything. It’s only because we heard his caminet door slam that we knew to go look.
I want our old delivery dude back, he was super nice and never had any issues, the new dude is kind of rude and now he does this.

DPD is the worst , one time I had a package coming from my home country, my address was Steenweg op Mechelen in Kraainem, but for no reason they tried to deliver it in Mechelen saying that the address was not complete or false,and for that they were processing the package for sending back fo the sender.I had to call the customer service for explaining how to read the address correctly and after a cheap 30€ call some days after they deliver my package.

This is horrible. You would at least expect that they would wait for you until you get home. Because you are important !! We don’t care the drivers make less then minimum wage, work 12hours a day, constantly stressed by traffic. Our product is more important. We demand nothing less than the best service, and our item delivered in our hands at a time and in a way that is most conveniant for us. Fuck them. The audacity ! And do I need to mention we payed big money for the delivery service.
Receiving packages almost on a daily basis. GLS, DPD, PostNL, Bpost, UPS, FeDex,… you name it, they been here. Yes, on rare ocasions there are some issues. 99% No Problem. I am baffled by the intolerance of this thread. A box that is a little wet…. really ? Are you OK ?
Do you know the working conditions of those couriers ? Give them some slack, will you.

Maar de oorzaak hiervan is niet ver te zoeken: bezorging van pakketjes moet zo goedkoop mogelijk. PostNL en DPD werken daarvoor via (schijn)zelfstandigen in onderaanneming. Vaak werkten die mensen in loondienst en werden ze tegen dezelfde verloning verplicht om zelfstandige te worden (niet goed beseffend dat ze nu bruto werkten en op het einde van het jaar nog belastingen moesten betalen). Ofwel verplichten ze pakjesbezorgers om immens veel pakjes per dag te doen.

Ja, het is erg dat jouw pakje daar de dupe van is, maar if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Als DPD en PostNL hun werkomstandigheden en verloning zou verbeteren, dan zou de dienstverlening ook beter worden. Bottom line is dan natuurlijk dat ‘gratis leveren’ vaak terug betalend gaat worden.
Het is net zoals vliegen: we klagen dat de dienstverlening gedurende decennia slechter is geworden, maar beseffen vaak niet dat dat 1 op 1 correleert met de prijs die je wil betalen.

(Off topic). Since I heard about their working conditions, I always choose to get my packages delivered in a pick-up point. Moreover, I’m retired, so I rarely need a delivery to be urgent. I know these guys are payed by the package, and I was wondering if the get the same pay for dropping packages in such a pick-up point? Anybody here knows?
I’ve paid extra in the past to get home delivery instead of pickup point since I was at home that day.
They sent me a message saying I wasn’t home (I definitely was) and I had to go pick it up at the other side of town at someone’s house. Not even a store.
It infuriates me endlessly that they clearly didn’t even bother to show up.

DPD is echt absoluut te vermijden. Zijn er in geslaagd om een grote staanlamp en 20kg kattenzand “kwijt te spelen”, terwijl het 2de pak kattenzand wel gewoon geleverd was… Beide pakken kattenzand waren gelijktijdig verzonden.
Doen verder ook bijna nooit moeite om nog maar aan te bellen. Al verschillende keren pakjes gehad die buiten aan de inkom lagen. Gelukkig is er altijd wel een of andere buur die ze binnen legt (appartement).
Ooit DHL gehad? Mijn bezorger verdiende echt de meeste complimenten ooit voor mijn bureaustoel te leveren. Zonder sarcasme. Meneer had zijn camion (lees: Geen camionette. Volledige 6 meter trailer met laadbrug) in het straat wat verderop geparkeerd omdat ik in autovrije straat woon. Is eerst komen aanbellen om te zien of ik thuis was. Dan ben ik met meneer meegewandeld om de iets betere parkeerplek aan te duiden/makkelijke weg te laten zien. Dan is die mens nog met zijn transpalet mijn bureaustoel komen afzetten aan de voordeur.
Bij deze wil ik mezelf graag even excuseren voor de mensen die een kwartier met de auto hebben staan wachten zodat ik de beste levering aller tijden kon hebben.
Ik haat het ook wanneer mijn natte doos zichtbaar is voor iedereen.
Net 3 weken gewacht op een pakketje wat binnen maximaal 3 dagen er zou zijn. Uiteindelijk aangekomen. Ergens in Denemarken, maar desalniettemin aangekomen.
Al de 3de keer dat DPD mij zo naait. Never again.
Het is al een wonder dat DPD het tot bij jou gekregen heeft. DPD heeft een pakketje van ons afgeleverd op een verkeerd huisnummer in onze straat, een huisnummer die niet eens voorkomt in onze straat. We hebben nog proberen te puzzelen, maar hebben het nooit gevonden.
Verkoper heeft een nieuw pakket moeten opsturen…

Lucky you, DPD threw my package over the gate of my neighbours house (i don’t have a driveway).
Guess what; my neighbour is a truckdriver. He ran over my package which got flattened.
After a (annoying and long debate) DPD refunded me, not for the damages, but because they delivered it to the wrong house…
Little reminder that a realistic time schedule on the drivers’ part would fix a lot of the issues mentioned in the comments.

Oh.. DPD…. Idiots. I had a package coming but missed delivery. They took it with them and left a note I could collect it at a pickup shop the next day.
When I went there there was no package yet.
Days go by and I check the tracking. It’s back in their sorting center or something.
Then again a mail it’s on it’s way to the pickup shop.
At the tracking I see ‘undeliverable’. For two days straight.
I call DPD and they tell me ‘yeah, that’s stupid, that shop opens at 16h and he tries to deliver it at noon.. no wonder’.
I give them permission to send it to my address and leave it behind in my yard. They have changed the address they tell me.
Another few days go by and I get a mail it’s on it’s way… To that pickup shop again. Finally it was delivered too, but in the pickup shop.
I think the time between ordering and getting it was two weeks.
DPD’s service is pathetic. When we were on vacation last month, my motion detection activated doorbell-camera captured one of their delivery guys carefully inspecting and then stealing another package that was delivered earlier by BPost and that was put at our door. Camera captured the earlier delivery and the stealing. Notified DPD, telling them we have a recognizable picture of the person stealing and a video of him doing it. They couldn’t be bothered. It’s infuriating
They can’t handle it anymore. None of them can.
At this point I don’t think we can do more than resort to brick and mortar when we can, and accept later delivery and/or higher costs when we can’t.
The parcel delivery business has become a monster that harms traffic, environment, working conditions, road safety… I don’t think having stuff delivered to your door next morning because you took a fancy to its representation online is worth that.

I live in an apartment so couldn’t hear their van door closing, but I stayed home the entire time, got no notice in the mailbox, no call from the doorbell. The seller had to send a new package. This time I learned, told them to deliver it to the pickup point and will be picking it up tmr.

DPD is verschrikkelijk. Vaak laten ze mijn pakket doodleuk liggen in de inkomhal van mijn apartement, zonder melding, waarna letterlijk iedereen ermee weg kan lopen.
1) pay with credit card. Then you have more recourse, and more importantly, a LOT faster.
2) this will only stop if the entity contracting DPD complains. And they’ll only complain if stuff goes missing.
