So I recently completed a Bachelor’s degree here in Australia and have been accepted for a 3 month internship at a research institution in Germany. The institution could not process a ‘student visa’ as I am no longer enrolled at my university. My next option was to apply for an internship visa, however I am quite confused as to whether I need to apply for one before I travel to Germany. Some websites say Australians do not need an Internship Visa and just requires a residence permit after entering the country. E.g. [https://australien.diplo.de/au-en/service/01-visa/working-in-germany/2073676#content\_5](https://australien.diplo.de/au-en/service/01-visa/working-in-germany/2073676#content_5), [https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/germany/visa/training-internship-visa/](https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/germany/visa/training-internship-visa/)
I was wondering if any Australians here has had any experience with internship visas?

Much appreciated!
