I have never seen one of these? Is this fake?

  1. you have it in many of the IC trains. All of the ones I’ve been in (Geneva-Zurich line, Zurich-Lugano) had one of these wagons.

  2. It is real. This specific one is one the new Fv-Dosto trains and only on the IC version. These run on the IC1 from Geneva to st. Gallen, IC2/IC21 from Zürich/Basel to Lugano and IC3 from Basel to Chur.

There’s also a different type of playground on the old double decker trains, which run on many IC and IR lines, the most notable probably being the IC8 from Romanshorn over Zürich to Brig or IC61 from Basel to Interlaken.

  3. Yes, you’ll find one at the end of almost every IC train. Although they don’t have bright green seats like that.

  4. It’s real. I’ve seen some on the IR90 when it had double deck coaches. Though the ones I’ve seen are not as funky as the playground depicted. I haven’t really bothered turning back while traversing the train trying to not fall down in a turn :p

  5. Can cofirm it’s real and it’s awesome. I have small kids and we often plan our train rides according to the availability of those coaches. You can usually find them on the IR or IC trains. On the SBB app those coaches are marked “FA” (Family area) and on the electronic board on the platform those coaches are marked by a teddy bear. You can also identify those coaches from the outside as they have giant animal stickers on them.

  6. I’ve seen it on the train that goes to Zurich airport. I still remember it as I found a toy rabbit that has been following me ever since.

  7. That’s so cool! We just spent 6 nights in Switzerland with our 2yr old. Wish I had known this before! Switzerland was so magical and so very kid-friendly.

  8. Between Lausanne and Montreux or Geneva, I think I see that most of the time, last coach in the back.

  9. Yet they always bring their little plagues into the regular coaches, do nothing to stop them from screaming and block the corridors and exits with their strollers….

  10. The main nonstop Zurich to Luzern trains have one of these cars. You can tell from the animals painted on the outside.

  11. I accidentally ran into one of these. I was traveling Switzerland and was looking for a seat in a very busy train, so I kept going backwards on the train and it got louder and louder, then I entered a train car exactly like this, it was the most chaotic thing I saw there.
