Hmm, looks like droplets moving through the air can have quite an effect.
This isn’t just in Romania, phew
The weakening of the western societies, brought you by social media. Enjoy!
On the more serious note, that’s just sad to watch. We should have known and act better.
Is it legal in Belgium to directly hit people this way? I have never seen it in Poland, they are rather aiming above people.
Reminder once again that the genesis of the modern anti vax movement was a British dude who wasn’t even anti vax but just wanted to make a lot of money.
What restrictions are currently in place in Belgium?
Edit:
The use of water cannons is very brutal, I have no idea how this can be allowed.
The nature of the protest is not clear from this video. Is this such an aggressive and dangerous protest, to suppress which you need to use water cannons?
They got yeeeeeeted
Those water cannons are more powerful than I thought!

I was in Brussels a week ago for three days (Spaniard, travelling due to work). The restrictions were quite mild compared to the ones we have in Spain. A lot of people didn’t wear masks in public spaces. It was shocking. You could almost recognise foreigners because of complaince to covid mesures.
One of the people interviewed said the daily Corona figures were fake. I facepalmed myself so hard I left a mark.

I disagree entirely with what the protestors’ opinions, but seriously, can we stop cheering on how the water cannons are being used here? That’s absolutely brutal. They do have a right to protest, however stupid I (and many others here) may think their opinion may be.
most of the restrictions dont actually seem to do very much anyway.. in my country we were locked down to within 5 km of our houses for 6 months.. and then the virus spread everywhere anyway and we didnt do vastly better than anyone else in the end.
Comment section is a mess
I gotta get outta here
Mostly peaceful!
Ahhh reddit. One day the police are evil and abhorrent, the next day they should be applauded for spraying peaceful protesters with hoses for demonstrating against mandated medical procedures. One day hopefully some of you see the irony of all of this.
Water at high speeds are like a concrete. Ouch…
Think of how cold that water is and being wet outside when it’s near 0C.
These people are at least throwing stuff towards the cops. Lots of peaceful protest have unfortunately been met with a stronger force by police with zero reason.
I still think that no matter how idiotic I find these protestors, this is a hit harsh.
Reading comment section on reddit about anything related to covid and vaccinations is scary. You’ll notice that there is only one allowed opinion and you’re not allowed to question. Think, if this is normal for you.
I am in no way an anti-vaxxer. And am vaccinated myself and will get a booster in February. But regardless of your opinion on vaccines this is absolutely brutal.
As dumb or as ignorant and misinformed they are, they are still human, and we shouldn’t rely on water canons as a counter measure. It is inhumane and can leave you with some pretty nasty injuries.
Pressurized water can be used to cut apart metal alloys. If one of these things hits you directly even from a distace it can cause serious damage to the skin, hell it is probable that they can rupture your ear drums.
seriously astounding how reddit cheers on protestor assaults when they’re protesting against smth they dont agree with lmao, stay classy you hypocritical fucks
Protesting government measures =/= protesting vaccines.
Also I wonder how so many of these people feel when the bi-weekly “Palestinian child incinerated by Death Star’s planet destroyer for throwing pebble at Israeli IFV” articles come out? Is that brutality then? Is that okay too?
You all realise that anti covid restriction is NOT anti vax right? Don’t forget the severity of what we’ve lost out on because of these restrictions and what its like to have indeterminate and seemingly endless financial, mental, and social boundaries and burdens. No we don’t want the virus to kill people, but at what point are we going to admit that we need to get back to surviving. I for sure know if there’s another lockdown in the UK then my place of work and will close down and all the other independently owned businesses around me will too. Dont blame polarisation for the anti vax movement and then just further dig your own trench, you’re the same fucking problem.
I’m very, very pro vaccine, but the reaction to the protestors is fucking awful. It’s disgusting to see liberals condone state violence because “it’s not my side being hurt!!!”
Seems like a relatively civil bout, I suppose.
