Visa solidarity: Baltic states don’t want Russian tourists

  1. The EU should consider revoking all golden visas issued to Russian citizens by member states for investing in the real estate market. This would really damage Putler cronies.

  2. > shameless Russian free riders

    ???

I have no idea what this means/implies. A mistranslation? What is free and what are they riding for free? Does he actually see any tourists as a net negative on the economy? Or just Russian ones?

I would at least understand if he was referring to the Ukrainian refugees getting free transportation throughout the Europe.

  3. The western culture is based on individualism and personal responsibility. What the baltic states are saying and trying to do is pure racism.

The author claims that tourists enjoy their time in Europe and support the war: what kind of bullshit statement is that?
Yes, a lot of people support the war. However the majority of them are not well educated, poor, brainwashed, and don’t even have a travel passport.

Also, be consistent then and cancel citizenship of 6% of Russians in Lithuania, 25% in Latvia and Estonia.

If you don’t like some behavior (e.g. public support of the war) then make it law and then feel free to apply it to everybody in your country. Ban non-EU visitors and do whatever legal things in case of breaking a law.

Right now it looks like the leaders of some countries are just a bunch of right-wing populists, who want to win some points amid the huge crisis.

  4. I like how the acticle states

“If we are in favor of European security and values”

    And then goes
“Together, we need to find a joint and efficient solution to make a visa ban as effective as possible. And it should include, effective immediately, a clear “no” to Russian and Belarusian tourists; revoking already issued long-term multiple-entry visas”

I guess the author thinks the European values today are “guilty until proven innocent” and “let’s punish many for the crimes of the few”
