  1. Rain please, and lots of it, no floods but enough at a steady pace to properly water the place.

    Edit

Jesus christ r/uk… enough with the nauseatint pedantry on my comment.
Im asking for rain, and not flood.

    This sub: “uhhhh akkkkkshully!”

    Grow up.

Oh and by the way, where i am, its been hours of drizzle so you’re wrong.

  2. Everyone just wishing the summer away even though they spend the other 48 weeks moaning about the shit weather…

  3. I live in France, we got the change of weather you are getting a day earlier, it has been glorious today, house has cooled down, a little rain, and hopefully I can actually get a night’s sleep without waking up in a puddle of sweat. This time last night ( 9pm) it was 36 degrees with the smell of wildfires in the air, now 22 and dropping to 14 overnight.

Oh what a difference a day makes.hopefully the wind blows the wildfire smoke the other way and I can catch the Persied meteor shower, it has been behind a smokescreen for a week.

  4. A lot of people will think this means it will be OK to get the sprinkler out again. People are content to ignore this has been the driest year on record, not just the driest summer, we are going to need a biblical deluge that lasts a week to rectify that, not a week of light rain. Hosepipe bans are a long way from ending and I suspect more are on the way too.

  5. Thunder, rain and lightning in central Scotland for the last twenty minutes

Was just waiting for it to get cool enough to go outside and spike the lawn (to help it absorb whatever rain falls), but I can’t be arsed now it’s started hammering down

  6. I’m not expecting much, if any, rain here in Essex. Possible convective showers, but they are hit and miss.

I can’t remember the last time it rained.

I’ll take a temperature drop though. It’s currently 23.8° outside but 30.5° in my bedroom. It’s been like this since Thursday.

  7. I’m saving up for a proper portable aircon unit (like a £400 one) for those future hot days. Shut my windows and curtains and blast it on to cool the room down. Turn it off when the room is cold and whack it back on once the room gets too warm again.

Dared’nt leave it on all day. Cost too much.

  8. I’m from Dubai. And, will soon move over to London, is it really as bad as the heat here?

Should we actually consider installing AC units in our place there?

Wouldn’t want to be sweating a lot during the day since the heat is unbearable here and AC is on 24/7 on 19c.
