Map of Russia’s boundaries with NATO member countries

  1. Less than 1/16th of Russia’s more than 20,000KM of borders are with NATO member countries. A common refrain from Russian state media and government is that Russia is “surrounded.” That’s not exactly true, and when looked at on a map it’s actually a bit comical.

  2. Usa and Russia are separated from a few km by the street of Bering.
Why don’t they fight there and leave us alone?

  3. don’t be so intellectually dishonest, those “little lines” are exactly where russia was invaded by hitler, wilhelm II and napoleon . it’s not the same if you have mountains or plains. and that western region is the center of russia’s culture and economy, so if you conquer that the whole state falls apart. now you’re saying, who’s going to go and conquer russia, what’s up with the paranoia? well, who’s going to conquer USA? but still they have military bases ALL OVER THE WORLD. i despise putin and conservatives and oligarchs but NATO is a tool of american imperialism.

  4. It’s pretty weird to not put the maritime border with Turkey on there and ignore what the map would look like if Georgia and Ukraine (which are officially on track to join NATO) were in.

  5. in cartography, the names of the countries should not be curved, it is only the name of the rivers.

  6. That is the aggrement between russia and Usa .they dont fight each other att all but they bring the strees to rest of the world and sell a lots of guns and weapon system to all over the world and suck the money from those countries…its a good deal..

  7. We’ll just conveniently leave out the fact that 90% of the Russian population lives right on that border.

  8. Could be 100% and the Russian notion that NATO is surrounding them to overthrow their government or even invade them would still be horseshit.

  9. It s about strategic depth, which is almost nil these days compared to the Cold war status quo. Shorter distance less time to react, great potential for miscalculations etc

  10. Well Crimea was given by the russian socialist soviet federal republic to ukrainian socialist soviet republik in the 1950s so yes crimea is russian. Saing it is not is like saing USA is native american land or the english should go back to northern Germany.
