Was sitting at a stillstand in traffic when this fine gentleman passed me. How is this even allowed?

  1. Maybe his name was Hugo Hoogers and was born in 1988? Or Hilde Hoogers from 1988?

In all seriousness, I don’t think it’s officially allowed but I assume the employee who approved the license plate (yes personal plates need to be approved) is not aware of the Hitler reference.

  2. Clearly this man is a Huge Hulk Hogan fan.
1988 is the year of Wrestlemania 4. Hulk Hogan vs André The Giant. There are few bigger matches in the history of wrestling.

    Much love – HH

  3. Just wanted to say, “stillstand” instead of “standstill” gave me a chuckle 🙂

  4. Tbh with you OP, i don’t think it’s a nazi, nazis don’t make enough money to afford a brand new G63. They usually have shitty jobs and blame the others for that lol

  5. Pretty sure that whoever had to check if the license plate was allowed has no idea what HH88 means, as I didn’t either until a minute ago.

  6. I dont think the drivers is aware of what it means… i didnt know until now. Why would you know? Probably initials and year of birth.

  7. I’m struggling a little to follow the thought process in this choice.

You’re paying a lot of money to pass both a “covert” message AND a more on the nose one via the same medium?
    That makes no sense whatsoever.

You either go for an in-joke that reaches those in the know, ex. “42” or
you explicitly send your message, ex. ILUVBEER.
But this choice is just weird.

  8. just informational . if someone should send in those plates for cancelation these apparently will never be available for anyone

  9. Thanks for the enlightenment, however, if you don’t know about it, like most of the people, you don’t even care about it. Don’t be so easily triggered

  10. When your solution is a Hammer, everything becomes a nail. OP ziet teveel spoken. Ik wil ook dat alle jaartallen met 88 in worden verboten. Albert Hein moet stoppen met zijn hard drugs te verkopen.

  11. So what else are you going to ban? Stalin, Mao, USSR, Hermann, Pinochet etc etc etc?

Stop fucking infringing on basic freedoms. Fuck nazi’s, and fuck people who want to dictate what others want to print on a fucking vanity plate. Jesus H.

People who want to ban moronic shit like this because it’s offensive (not even illegal) would be the perfect Gestapo agent.

Banning everything that’s offensive to you is an extremely slippery slope. What if a future government decides to ban shit that you personally agree with?

Obviously banning messages like ‘gas the Jews’ should be illegal. That’s preaching hate and violence and is fortunately illegal in Belgium.

  12. I only know this story because of when football players pick the number 88 (for example, Mkhataryan)

There’s always a bunch of people talking about H being the 8th letter so 88 means HH leading to think about the nazi cunt, and thus, “wondering why he picked this number”…

  13. I remember this license plate was posted back when I first registered to reddit..

The person that allowed this license plate should be fired immediately, for utter stupidity and negligence.. and this car owner is one of the richest neo-nazi’s in Belgium (that’s a 230 000 euro vehicle)
