Analysis: Britain is plunging deeper into crisis by the day, but its government is missing in action

  1. What is with British leadership lately? It’s like they’ve been paralyzed since Brexit. Take your no-deal Brexit (because it’s inevitable) and get working on a trade deal with the US. If you don’t have a trade deal with some large market, you are fucked. There’s no more time left to fuck around.

  2. I mean isn’t that the common denominator everywhere?

Germany has been squeezed by the balls by Russia, their gas has almost been cut, and they say “look at us, we reduced amount of gas we imports from Russia by half*, US politicians have all started saying the most tell tale sign of recession is not a sign of recession, parts of Eurozone have 20% or larger inflation but we pretend it’s not real, etc.

  3. This is the result of anti-gay, anti-immigrant and the rest of anti-whatever policies that have raised everywhere. They do not propose any economic/social solution but just create confrontation. When something needs to be fixed the rhetoric of hate has no answers.

Even worse. Let’s fix the climate, let’s fix inequality, let’s fix education and health care. But that is impossible if your only job is to reduce taxation for corporations and the uber-rich. You can only watch while the world burns and stop any effort to use money to fix it.

  4. It was a massive mistake to have the deadline of the leadership contest so long after he resigned. Its becoming increasingly apparent we are in state of limbo

  5. I mean, it’s the holiday season for our politicians right now, I’m not sure that counts as missing in action.

  6. Not exactly a shocker. Given the parliamentary recess and a caretaker government which cannot make any significant policy decisions.
