Hi all, our cat sneezes once in a while during the day since a few days. We wanted to have it checked by a professional. Now they are fully booked and send us to the tier hospital https://www.bessys.ch . They talk about potential x-rays and what not. The meeting is on Tuesday. My question is how much in your experience would it cost to have this sneeze check? Thanks a lot!

Related to the wet weather? I just had an X-ray and ultrasound on my dog, +300 each.
It’s not that bad as you think. It’s expensive but not massively. Think that for a cat x-ray + vaccines + blood test + urine test + test for overall organs . In a vet (https://andreaspark-tieraerzte.ch) will cost around 400chf . Probably less . I think the price is really ok .

my cat had/has similar issues. you very likely don’t need x-rays unless your cat has trouble breathing. you can ask if it would make sense to first try some allergy meds, as allergies in cats are common, that will cost you maybe 50-60 bucks. if the cat sneezes and the eyes are irritated that’s the way to go. but if the breathing is abnormal, then an x-ray would make sense. what would make more sense than an x-ray is testing the blood for FIV, so before having an x-ray, suggest that. x-ray will show if there’s stuff in the lungs and just sneezing does not warrant that, unless the vet hears abnormal breathing sounds.
nevertheless i recommend you to put money aside for out of the ordinary bills concerning your cat. if you can’t afford to put 50 bucks for the cat aside every month, already 10 bucks help. ideally if you have the money, 100 bucks a month would be perfect, because if there ever is something serious and your cat needs surgery, that can easily cost 2k.
