  1. Death threats against anyone, however disagreeable you find their opinions, should be condemned in the strongest terms.

  2. Imagine thinking a divine being could be offended like a little bitch. Who wants to follow a god that gets offended as easily as fundamentalist Muslims would have us believe Allah does? Allah sounds like a little bitch according to them.

  3. Whatever you think of her, it is easier to just ignore her comments on issues like this if you do not agree with her. I would not know what she said unless the death threats drew attention to it, showing how easy it is to avoid things like this if you just avoid social media.

  4. …. Those are very very very different death threats. One is the standard fare that celebrities get, the other has the backing of a massive organisation.

  5. Welcome to the future guys. Parallel societies and allowing people who believe in the opposite of western values.

  6. Probably just made to scare her but thats still out of order. Feels like things are sprialling.

  7. She recently received death threats from Trans activists too. I’m actually a little worried for her. She’s becoming a target for extremists. Hopefully her money gets her the best security.

  8. Reading the comments, can we all just agree that death threats aren’t ok no matter what? The fact its common on the internet is scary, especially as I can’t imagine making a threat online.

As for JKR, no matter what, she deserves not to have threats and harassment against her. I think her trans comments are disgusting and cause real damage. But that’s cause to boycott her, ask for her to be de-platformed and the harm she does published etc. Which is legitimate speech and not personal threats or violence.

  9. So they want to harm JK Rowling presumably because of her views on Transgender people yet support a Muslim extremist who very likely hates transgender people too.

  10. As a former fan of hers, it is possible to strongly oppose death threats made against someone whose bigoted views you also abhor.

  11. I’m really puzzled – what’s the overlap in the Venn diagram of “people who hate Salman Rushdie” and “people who hate J.K. Rowling”?

Are we looking for a fundamentalist Islamist intersectional transwoman?

  12. States have to react faster to threats like this. Some morons may then think twice before they spew out threats.
