Government officials told Channel 4 to delete parts of annual report ‘at odds’ with privatisation

  1. > In regard to a further reference in the financial review section of the report which stated that balance sheet improvements “only serves to underline Channel 4’s long-term sustainability”, the Government note read: “Remove highlighted text, Government’s position on long term sustainability has been made clear.”

Crystal clear admission that the Government’s position on the issue – and on any issue, really – need not bear any relation to reality as long as some money gets to flow into private pockets.

    Get fucking fucked.

  2. I must say as someone looking in from outside the UK….alot of people seem very much blind to the fact you are pretty much walking into fascism. Like do people not realise this or is there so many ‘dead cat’ stories that people get caught up in they just don’t care?

  3. The sad thing is that outrageous acts like this will continue as the government have realised that they can get away with this shit without consequence. The population have been successfully repressed. It’s only going to get worse.

  4. Seems like a clear cut case of the government silencing independent media, however that apparently only happens in other countries with fascist governments. It would never happen in a country like the UK, not one bit.

You won’t here the likes of Piers Moron talking about this either, despite this being the sort of press restriction he loathes. I suppose it is fine when it is happening to people that are not you and on topics you disagree with.a

  5. Genuine question – is there an example of privatisation that has actually worked? All the recent ones (Royal Mail, utilities, trains) seem to be a failure.

  6. I’ll keep saying it for as long as there are people denying it:

**The current Tory government is fascist.**

It doesn’t need a dictator parading around waving a swastika to be classed as fascist. With every passing day the Tory’s continue to tick off the boxes. I wish people would wake up. I’m sick of anyone saying things like this being classed as extremist or fear-mongering. It’s happening right before our eyes whether people want to admit it or not.

  7. “Wait, you mean it’s been **making** money recently? That doesn’t fit our remit of wanting to privatise it. Put a minus symbol in front of that total, nobody will notice. Colour it in red too if you can.”

  8. Do something about it before it is too late, it’s a lot easier to destroy than it is to rebuild – once it is gone it will not come back for a **long** time
