Build A House In 28 MINUTES?? SNAP Together Homes

  1. Another thing wrong with the housing system is the ridiculous hoops necessary to jump through to qualify for planning…. I’m 11 years living in Wicklow,8 years in rural Wicklow and I’m not local as I was raised in Dundrum. As an adult I chose to live in the countryside but it seems as I am being held to my parents choice for urban living ( believe me Dundrum wasn’t urban living 30years ago) I am not eligible to build a house until I am at least 10 years in the area. Greystones where I lived for 3 years while in Wicklow doesn’t matter to Wicklow Co Council. So while I save to build the house I want in the area I want to live…. The market continues to rise and with deposit penalization and inflation costs me more each year to save and the target seems to get further away. I don’t want to buy some overpriced draughty cottage with tiny windows only to spend 200k doing it up…. If you could build small houses on your land without planning you could omit the year or 2s rent you pay while your house is built and instead of lining a landlords pocket and you could be investing in your own property.

  2. In ireland the concrete companies lobby planning / regs and as a result you almost never see non-concrete made homes
