I wonder will they allow italian justice to drop her ass in prison? or as usual they will fly the american soldiers back to the land of freedom for fake justice and 0 days served in prison?
giving the past I seriously doubt anything will happen.
Would love in these trying times for us to be held accountable. Especially now when allies are of upmost necessity
She will be extradited to the US in the next 24-48 hours and face no consequences as it usually happens.
Did she flee the scene?
It is incredibly distressing the amount of people who are able to avoid all forms of accountability for their actions, I hope that doesn’t happen in this case but low hopes.
Can’t open the article due to the mobile app being shitty.
Was it her fault? Did she speed? Did she run a light? Did the kid?
Why are they even here

Pordenone, 15-year-old run over and killed by a car while cycling. The driver arrested: she is a US soldier from the Aviano base

He was standing on the side of the road with his bicycle when a car hit him, killing him. It happened on the night of 20 August in Porcia, in the province of Pordenone: the victim was a 15-year-old boy, Giovanni Zanier. Driving the car was a 20-year-old US soldier serving at the Usaf Base in Aviano who, according to reconstructions, lost control of the vehicle. The Pordenone Public Prosecutor’s Office, on the basis of the Carabinieri’s investigations, has established that the woman will be arrested for road homicide.
The 15-year-old, around 2.30 a.m., was returning home after an evening spent with friends and was hand-carrying his bicycle along the cycle track in Via Lazio when the car arrived. The 20-year-old girl lost control of the car coming out of a roundabout: she lost grip with the asphalt and skidded, hitting the teenager from behind, who, following the impact, was thrown forward about ten metres.
The fire brigade was called immediately, together with the rescue services: an ambulance and a helicopter. When they arrived on the scene, the 15-year-old was still alive: he died on the way to the emergency room of Pordenone hospital.
The arrest was decided on the basis of the seriousness of the consequences of the accident and not for any other reason: the woman, in fact, immediately stopped to help the boy, then, in shock, was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Pordenone. Here she was tested with a breathalyser, but the results are not yet in the hands of investigators. As the young woman is incensed, she will be placed under house arrest.
According to the latest information, learned by Ansa, the street was completely dark due to the energy-saving policy established by the municipality: for some months now, the municipality, in order to save on public utility bills, has decided to switch off the streetlights, on a large part of the road network, from 2 a.m. onwards. Among the causes of the road accident, which the Carabinieri are investigating, in addition to speed that was not commensurate with the dangerous nature of the stretch, was poor visibility. Before running over the boy, the woman’s car tore through a road sign and went over a small kerb separating the road from the cycle track, on which the victim was with some friends, and they were returning home.
The accident occurred a few days after another similar incident in which an 11-year-old boy lost his life in Milan.
Well yes accidents happen?
They do this all the time and get away with it, the wife of someone in the CIA here ran over a teenager on a motorbike while she was driving on the wrong side of the road. Needless to say she got away with it completely, it was only a few years ago. When America has no strong or reliable friendships left in the world, just know that your government caused that, for very little.
Extradited to the US
Continues to be a part of the military regime, claiming benefits and the eventual pension.
Nothing but a diary entry.
The rich will bully the poor as always.
But hey, let’s fight the US’s fight everywhere while they fuck everyone at every opportunity.
“The street was completely dark due to energy saving policies”
If she was drunk, throw her ass in an Italian jail.
If it was a sober accident, that’s sad and something she will have to live with forever. I’m glad she stopped and tried to help the boy.
Tbh based on the article this seem like a case of slight negligence of the driver + very bad luck = tragedy. She surely have some responsibility and I hope they won’t just send her back to the US, but that stuff unfortunately happens often and to good drivers too.
America. Militarily so incompetent they can’t avoid civilian deaths, even in allied countries where there’s no war.
That’s a great way to make people want you out of their country.
PS: I dont know what the rules in Italy are, but in BG, the driver is responsible and has to drive with responsible speed at all times, given the conditions of the road. Whether a driver goes below the speed limit, he/she can still be at fault if deemed to drive too fast on a damp and dark road, causing an accident.

WTF? How fast do you have to drive through a roundabout to lose control, hit a person a throw him 10 meters away?
