Interesting comment from Turkish state news. It is true that Sweden have a problem with an increase in violence and a homicide rate that now is up on 1.2. However, that means that the homicide rate in Sweden currently is the same as for example UK and France and much lower than Turkey’s 2.6.
>Scandinavian country witnessed over 250 shootings in 2022, police data shows
Success. That’s less than previous years. The fall and winter is usually a bit calmer so than the summer.
>Contrary to its reputation as being one of the most peaceful countries in the world, Sweden saw over 250 armed attacks this year, resulting in the killing of at least 45 people, police data shows.
Well that’s not really irregular? Number of shootings is down if we compare that to last year even to roughly the same time frame. Number of dead are in line with last year and previous years. Not exactly irregular or higher than regular.
We are still very peaceful considering gang violence is very limited to certain areas. While this is still an issue to be tackled it’s not very impartial to try and force an agenda here that we are not peaceful… Considering it’s coming from a State run Turkish News agency.
Just looking at firearm related deaths per capita we are still below that of say Bulgaria, Norway, France, Finland, Austria, Canada, Estonia etc…
>Organized crime has risen in the Scandinavian country over the last few years.
Sure organised crimes have but shootings are on a slight downwards trend. Number of people killed are the same tho so death rate has increased per shooting. But considering its mostly gang on gang violence. The biggest losers arent regular people but the criminals themselves.
