They need us more than we need them. European politicians must listen…..
Yeah it sucks for them and if they voted to Leave then there’s a little bit of a lack of foresight.
But we all got screwed on this and pointing the finger and laughing isn’t gonna help anymore. If we’re ever gonna get out of this mess we need everyone against the people that actually fucked us in the first place.
I think majority of them were denied the vote in the referendum because of the arbitrary cut off date and those who have lived abroad longest would have probably voted to remain and therefore change the result.
Now they suffer the consequences of a vote they had no say in.
Oh noes! Won’t somebody please think of the shareholders!
Seriously though, this sucks for the innocent victims, those who well deserve it can suck whatever they find nearby and convenient. We all know that there isn’t any chance in hell they’ll ever concede that it is their own fault.
So open a local account. If you live in a country it’s not unreasonable to use their banking system.
Also I note HSBC aren’t on the list, they specialise in global bank accounts. I wonder if they are picking up this market.
So just use a UK address. Surely there is a family member who will allow you to do this?
If you emigrate, you should pay taxes in that country, ergo you need a bank account. These people don’t have addresses in the UK, they’ve left ! Everyone complained when Mrs Sunak was found to be ‘non domicile’ whats the difference ?
On the subject of should they have had a vote, No, they don’t live here, neither should they be able to vote in elections. If they dislike the UK so much that they sell up and leave then No. I met a guy who lives on his boat in Greece, he whined about Brexit, his reason was unless he became a Greek citizen he would only be able to spend 90 days there in any 180 a totally selfish motive.
British immigrants treated like immigrants by British banks…
Now imagine having a SIPP in UK that can’t pay into a foreign bank account
