True or not, Champagne price has long since not been a reflection of quality.
It’s balls. They have claimed this every year since I remember. Anyone who has tried to buy wine from English growers has seen, it’s £10 (tax) extra expensive, and not as nice because there’s no experience or range of vineyards.
Regardless of quality, if it isn’t made in the region of France called Champagne then it can’t be called Champagne.
If it’s made in the same way then it’s described as being made with the méthode champenoise or méthode traditionnelle.
I would have thought that if you were going to write an article on the subject you should at least get that bit correct.
Still, it’s probably not aimed at anyone who gives a fuck.
