My first invitation to vote as a German. Any tips to know some information about the different Parties? Any other suggestions are welcome 🙂

  1. Err, you know that that election was about a year ago?

A good source for info would be googling “Wahl-O-Mat”, there will be links to a site for each election.

  2. I don’t think that it’s advisable to tell you about the different parties, especially because opinions can differentiate between each person. In Germany we don’t really talk about who we wanna vote cause it could influence your own opinion. At least where I come from

  3. The invitation is a bit old XD

But you can have a look at the wahl-o-mat where you answere questions on political topics and get a comparrison with the answers from the parties. Also the bpb has some good information on all parties and the parties have a “Wahlprogramm” where they state what they plan to do and what their stance on different topics ist.

  4. Here is a pro tipp:

Always check the all the dates in letters you get, it might save you some trouble some day when deadlines are an issue. In this case, you are only 11 months late to the event.

As for parties: Check the list of political parties and then go through the information material they offer or that is available online to form an opinion on and of your own. Everyone has a political view and preference, so they will recommend parties accordingly to their bubble and beliefs.
