Interesting to see the reaction to this news on reddit. r/news is already locked with 0 upvotes, and a conspicuous absence of anyone naming the specific motive for the attack. It’s easier to leave it at ‘religious extremism’ but the undeniable reality is it was an Islamist attack and there is no parallel in the West with another religion carrying out attacks against ‘blasphemers’, at least not with the same regularity or scale.
But I’m sure if we just bury our heads in the sand and dismiss any concerns about fundamental cultural differences that exist, it will all go away and we won’t see another incident like this again.
Problem with Islam is whilst most who follow it are peaceful and integrate well in society. Wherever they live the Islamic faith will supercede whatever laws are of the land they live in.
How do you deal with that when there own religion says you can’t mock their god

I recently watched his stint on Curb Your Enthusiasm. The guy has balls.
Muslim extremists are as determined and crazy as any other extremist. (Religious or otherwise) I wish there was a place we could send all extremists and let them fight it out amongst themselves. None deserve to share the planet (that we just so happen to be killing) with us. They are poisoned and at the same time poison spreaders. I don’t get why we tolerate any of them.

100’s of dead teenagers, 1,000s of raped kids and anyone who criticises them is at risk of brutal murder. I dunno guys i’m starting to think they might not be that peaceful after all.
This is absolutely tragic, I grew up reading Midnights Children, Haroun and the Sea of Stories and Satanic Verses. All absolutely brilliant books with Imagery that stays with me to this day. The fact that any moron would want to harm the source of literary genius is just horrific. I hope he is ok.
