I see these hand drying machines in the bathroom of airports and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use them. Those towels are always damp and when I try pulling on it, nothing happens. I do not know what they’re called so I can’t find a YouTube tutorial either.
Can any German care to explain how to use this mysterious device?

See the red Sensor Icon on the right? Move you hands in front and it will lower a “fresh” part of the towel.
On the right there is a sign that it can be activated by a sensor, the towel should automatically be extended and after a short time pulled in.
This one has a touchless sensor. Hold your hand under the “upside down wifi symbol”, and the towel will move, exposing a fresh section.
More common is a version where you have to grab the towel on both sides and pull down, also marked with symbols to that effect.
